Throughout its history, Poland has always served as a model of active and creative attitude, as well as knowledge and patriotism. Entrepreneurship, recognized as a combination of the these specific elements, has been the leading force of our greatest national heroes; Nicolaus Copernicus, Marie Skłodowska Curie, Lech Wałęsa and Pope John Paul II, just to name a few.
The fact that Poland was able to shape such high rank authorities constitutes the strength of our nation. Within the frames of the Entrepreneurial Poland project, we wish to contribute to the development of great individuals. We bring out plan into life not only by making the young generation inspired by these great individuals – we want to inspire the young people to become great individuals themselves. Poland's most advantage does not lie in the strength of its particular branches of economy - agriculture, tourism or mining. Therefore, we cannot build the country’s commercial advantage by focusing on the construction of motorways, development of infrastructure or attracting investors.
Despite numerous developed strategies, throughout the last 18 years Poland has not come out with a coherent vision of the country. With no vision of Poland it is difficult to expect young people to think about their future in terms of the future of Poland. Unlike their ancestors, the current generation of young Poles has nothing to fight for because the country has not imbued it with challenges and hasn't set the generation on a clear-cut path towards success. We therefore wish to formulate a vision for our nation.
We wish to showcase entrepreneurship as our national trait, as something which has already granted us worldwide acclaim. If we were to concentrate on the proper development and orientation of entrepreneurship in Poland and among the younger generation in particular, then we could celebrate our national success.
Let's imbue the younger generation with ambitious goals and give them a chance of living up to their ambitions. This is how we would like to see entrepreneurship. According to research, there are about 6 million less companies in Europe than there should be and the number of new enterprises in particular countries is getting lower by the minute. Starting in 2006, an upward trend of entrepreneurship prevails only in Poland. It is therefore advisable to make use of this fact and establish most of those necessary 6 million companies right here in Poland.

If this were to be ever possible, we should arrive at such a system in which all young individuals could try out their business ideas in the course of their education. Our system of education must be forced into a more practical framework in accordance with the positive traits beginning to emerge in Poland.
Objectives of Entrepreneurial Poland
- drawing public attention to the need to create proper conditions (in terms of law and economics) for development of entrepreneurship in Poland
- starting a public debate on the development conditions of entrepreneurship in Poland, with the participation of representatives of public institutions and entrepreneurs
- promotion of entrepreneurial attitudes and activities among young individuals under the age of 30 (mainly students and university graduates) throughout Poland
- preventing labour-related emigration by encouraging youth to use its potential and skills in Poland
- changing the way young Poles think about their own place in the economic environment
- communicating knowledge and practical skills concerning economy in an interesting and comprehensible way, as components of education indispensible to find a way in the free market economy
- enabling young Poles to realize their entrepreneurial dreams
There already exist in Poland several other initiatives with the same objectives, yet they are still dispersed. The goal of the Entrepreneurial Poland program is to integrate projects aiming at development of entrepreneurship, support them in terms of merits and technology but foremost it shall affect people’s mentality and promote entrepreneurship in our country.
